We’ll Never Be Royals – It Doesn’t Run In Our Blood

Chillin' With Some Great Tunes

It’s that time of year again…

time to pour your favorite drink, put your feet up, and chill while listening to

JENN’S HOT SUMMER PLAYLIST –  the 2013 edition

Some old, some brand new, these are the tunes I’m loving most at the moment, and I’ll DEFINITELY be rocking these songs as I hit the skies for my vacation tomorrow…

that’s right — I said VACATION.

BOOM!

I am actually making a dream come true and heading for an amazing destination this week.

This can only mean one thing:  THE WORLD MUST BE ENDING.

But if it ends, I’ll be jamming to this setlist, and I hope many of you will be as well.

Just click the link below, and may it rock your faces off!

As for the place I’m visiting, here’s a hint:
THE WEIGHT OF WATER.
The book is amazing, and it’s what inspired my passion and interest in the location.  The movie isn’t as good, but it will do for those who want a brief glimpse into some of history and mystery that caught my attention.

I will be visiting a few other places/cities in the area as well.  Other people can have the typical, the white sand, the tourist traps, the cliché…but none of that for me.  Give me the unique, the different path.  Give me buildings centuries old, the space between the creaks telling fascinating stories of murder, love, and triumph in times gone by.  Give me a feeding ground for the artist.  Give me adventure.  Give me flight and fears faced down – the only way to grow as a person and be truly ALIVE.  And give me the other sea…the ancient sea,  the romantic sea, the dark and mysterious sea, full of passion and secrets…

Vacation destinations, 2013

Catch you guys on the flip side.  Until then, rock on…

— Jenn 🙂

  1. This is a great list. I am listening now, and have favorited a couple (the Franz Ferdinand, Ravonettes, Lorde (which I’d heard)). I haven’t been checking your blog regularly since you returned to fb… so finally got to this. I haven’t been music conscious enough for too long.

    1. Well thanks! I love my classics, but I’m always trying to keep up with talented (and usually lesser known) groups through the years. There’s gold out there — but as you and I known, it usually isn’t in the mainstream or on the radio. Lorde was an exception…a nice little break from the Nickelback/Katy Perry/Chris Brown/bullshit onslaught. 🙂
