It’s A Cold And It’s A Broken Hallelujah

The Stages of Grief:

“I wasted all your precious time…I wasted it all on you.” — Pavement

New Liturgy

Hail Mary, full of grace,

the Lord is with thee.

(But is He with us?)

Blessed are thou among women.

(To never have been lied to or cheated on.)

Pray for us who are hunted and exploited.

(Now and at the hour of our seduction.)

Blessed are the innocent and trusting,

whose only sin is expecting goodness in return.

(The mystery of Faith.)

Or are we cursed instead of blessed?

(Pray for us.)

We need protection.

(Pray for us.)

We who are preyed upon.

(Pray for us.)

We lifted our hearts.

(And they were crushed.)

We gave thanks.

(How is this just?)

Is this His will, done on earth?

(Hear and answer us.)

If we only believe in Him, will He deliver us from evil?

(Hear and answer us.)

The dangerous ones don’t always come

brandishing guns or knives.

(Have mercy on us.)

Sometimes they come with requests for nude pics and phone sex.

Their weapons are charm, persuasion, and lies.

(There is no why.)

May we forgive those who trespass against us.

(Guard me, as I am not property or a possession.)

May we love and be loved.

(Without being taken advantage of.)

May we be delivered from the

unjust and deceitful man.

(Grant us peace.)

For our bodies, hearts, and minds should be

safe and revered by all,

for ever and ever.
